Pre Sea Training Course

What Is Pre Sea Training?

Pre Sea Training refers to the intensive residential preparatory phase that transforms civilian students into disciplined maritime professionals ready for shipboard life. Mandatory for Deck Cadets, Trainee Engineers, GP Ratings, and Catering crew, it builds the physical fitness, mental resilience, safety awareness, and teamwork required for 24/7 operations in multinational ship environments.

Duration varies by career stream (4-12 months), always incorporating DG Shipping-approved STCW Basic Safety Training (BST) modules. The training bridges theoretical maritime knowledge with practical shipboard routines, ensuring graduates hit the deck running during their first contract.

As Marine’s Pre Sea program offers tailored streams – Deck Cadet, Engine Cadet, GP Rating, Catering – with common safety foundation plus department specialization.
